Family Resource Centers are comprehensive, coordinated family support service programs that serve to promote & strengthen the capacity of families to raise healthy children.

Since 2002, Building A Generation has partnered with the Redlands Unified School District to provide the Family Resource Center Program at four locations on-site of four elementary schools. The Family Resource Centers continue to exist through additional partnerships including First 5 San Bernardino, San Bernardino County Behavioral Health, and Inland Empire United Way.
These locations best benefit Building A Generation's target population of families with children 0 -12 years of age and living in areas of the East Valley that demonstrates areas where homelessness, drug & alcohol abuse violence, and school truancy is prevalent.

The Family Resource Centers serve as a community hub that brings together community resources to inform, educate, and advocate for families to gain access to necessary opportunities so they can provide a stable and healthy living environment for the well-being of their children. This includes helping families to secure basic essentials such as food, clothing, shelter and intermediate preventative needs including counseling, medical, dental, and other family support services.

The program serves families living in the entire geographic region of the Redlands Unified School District, 147 square miles covering Redlands, Mentone, and some parts of San Bernardino, Loma Linda, Forest Falls, and Higland. Each of the four Family Resource Center below strive to serve those underserved & unidentified populations by catering to the community’s individual needs, being accessible & “family friendly”. Trained staff works closely with important collateral connections that help to increase the use of appropriate services while reducing the use of misguided services.
