Healthy families in healthy communities from improved outcomes for both families and communities by bringing together services and activities that educate, develop skills, and promote self-sufficiency in families. PROGRAM YEAR STATS June 2008 July 2009 ![]() Parents introduced to program: 1,993 Children served: approximately 5,000 (415 per month) Duplicate families: 799 (families who re-visit the Family Resource Center Program) Families enrolled in Case Management (CM): 222 (CM is a comprehensive “wrap” service that links parent to community resources while monitoring their progress through goal planning, outcome measurements, and multiple sessions lasting anywhere from 1 month – 2 years per client.) Direct Financial assistance: $19,285 (When a resource appears to be depleted, unfound, or client doesn’t qualify, Building A Generation assists financially to fill the gap including transportation, counseling, food, shelter, and clothing. Storybook Hour–332 parents and 579 children attended. 1,274 new books given to children Child Passenger Safety– 240 child restraints checked for safety. 137 New Child Restraints provided. Learning Through Play…TUBS –96 children ![]() ![]() For the past 5 years, Building A Generation has held their charity softball tournament with teams comprised of businesses, churches, and service organizations. While adults are competing for $500.oo with half of their winnings going to their chosen charity, families are able to enjoy the Kid Fun Zone. This family fun event raises $6,000 a year to provide services to the families in the communities that Building A Generation serves. Other participating teams included Alta Vista Credit Union, Starbucks, X103.9 radio station, Tilden-Coil Constructors, St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, Ridge Runner Roofing, the Rock Church, RCH Radiology, Ohana Yogurt, Redlands Unified School District, and Beaver Medical Center. Serving the East Valley of San Bernardino, Building A Generation, along with community partners including the Redlands Unified School District and First 5 San Bernardino, operates the community based Family Resource Center Program at the following elementary schools: Franklin, Mentone, Lugonia, and Victoria. ![]() |
